Hudson River 2011

PCBM took 2nd place at the Rose Mary Murphy Club Team Championship on the Hudson
River this past weekend. Ken Bracy made the Regional tourny as our first place
finisher. Ron Bracy, Steve Hillestad, Gary Day, Chuck Rowley and Steve Pickard
completed the team. It was a tough two days (actually 4 including practice).
Fishing for two fish each was the target for each day. A lot of teams had
numerous empty bags. A tremendous storm rolled through Sunday complicating
things. We had great accomodations with an excellent restaraunt next to the
motel thanks to Gary Day. Fishing was tough being a tidal water. No one could
find any large mouth until Steve Hillestad caught a 3.26 largie on Sunday.
Average bags were around 3 lbs. One or two fish. Ken found four smallies on
Saturday but couldn't get back into them on Sunday. It was a real team effort to
hang on to the 2nd place start after Saturday. We just couldn't make up the
difference to take 1st from Crown City. 3rd place finished just 1 lb behibd us
(very close). We did beat at least 3 local clubs on their water. Overall, tough
fishing but great tournament.
